The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is hiring a Temporary Human Resources Assistant to support staffing, leaves, benefits, and HRIS administration at the Catholic Education Centre in Kitchener, Ontario. You will act as the first point of contact for staff and unions and assist HR Officers with staffing and onboarding.
The role requires a two-year HR-related diploma, strong interpersonal skills, and knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 53 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

The Human Resources Assistant is the initial point of contact for staff, and supervisors, and union representatives providing front-line support related to collective agreements, Board procedures, staffing, and employee inquiries within a unionized educational environment. The role supports HR Officers with staffing processes, leaves, benefits, and HR system administration, exercising sound judgment, and maintaining confidentiality.
Salary Range: Level 3, $69,591.53 - $81,870.19 per year in accordance with the PASS Terms of Employment.
Hours of Work: Temporary, full-time, 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year (Contract period: As soon as possible to October 31, 2026)
Location(s): Catholic Education Centre, 35 Weber Street West, Unit A, Kitchener, Ontario.
The successful incumbent is to be available to work on-site a minimum of three (3) days per week. During peak operational periods, this position may be required to work on-site up to five (5) days per week to support organizational needs.
