Job summary

New West Truck Centres in Medicine Hat is seeking a Parts Technician for a full-time, day-shift role (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday). You will process orders, assist customers, and support dealership activities while maintaining accurate pricing and displays.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of parts experience in heavy equipment or commercial vehicles, with a high school diploma and preferred Journeyman Parts Technician certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma required.
  • Journeyman Parts Technician certification preferred.
  • Minimum two years of parts experience in heavy equipment or commercial vehicle industry.
  • Must be professional, organized, and able to work in a high-pressure environment safely.

Responsibilities

  • 50% of time: Order processing—fulfill orders from on-hand parts, process orders from PDCs, dealers or suppliers, notify customers of ETA or arrivals.
  • 40% of time: Customer service and support—greet customers, provide high level service, assist internal/external teams.
  • 10%: Ad hoc duties—replenish displays, ensure pricing accuracy, participate in training and meetings, handle transactions and refunds.

Parts Technician - Day Shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday) - Medicine Hat

Our total compensation package offers job security, health, dental, EFAP, vision and life insurance. Compensation for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience and education, and this position is performance-based bonus eligible.

The Role

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM at our Medicine Hat branch.

Order Processing - 50% of your time is spent here
  • Fulfilling orders with on-hand parts, processing orders from our PDC's, other dealers or suppliers, and notifying customers of any ETA updates or when parts arrive.
  • Has a willingness to learn and effectively use the company business system (Procede) and all other online programs (CAT, Cummins, Paragon, etc.) required to fulfill the duties of a parts person and serve our customer.
Customer Service and Support - 40% of your time is spent here
  • Acknowledge all customers as they arrive in the facility and serve them in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide a high level of service to all of our customers, internal or external. Communicate well with and support other dealership personnel and departments.
Ad hoc duties - 10% and it's important!
  • Replenishes assigned display areas, ensures pricing is accurate, and keeps the area clean and organized for customers.
  • Participates in all training programs that are made available and attends all department meetings.
  • Processes credit card and debit transactions, performs product return inspections, and completes refunds and core credits.
Education / Certification
  • Minimum high school diploma required
  • Journeyman Parts Technician certification preferred
Experience
  • Minimum two years of parts experience in the heavy equipment or commercial vehicle industry
  • Must be professional, organized, and able to work in a high-pressure environment safely
