Our Red Deer team is looking for a Parts Supervisor. You will oversee a team of parts technicians and customers within Red Deer. You will drive performance improvements, supervise a diverse team across several product lines, and foster strong stakeholder relationships. Job Description

Provide clear leadership and direction to the Red Deer team, fostering a positive, engaged, and performance-driven culture. Drive collaboration between Caterpillar, Finning business units, and supply chain partners to achieve measurable results aligned with the EMP strategy. Coach and mentor parts staff, promoting accountability and ownership while developing succession plans and growth opportunities. Set clear goals and expectations for team members, monitor performance, and provide timely feedback through formal and informal conversations. Conduct Employee Opinion Surveys and implement action plans to improve engagement and team effectiveness. Build and maintain strong relationships with Caterpillar stakeholders, vendors, and branches to ensure alignment on parts supply chain objectives. Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, and service dimensions, focusing on inventory optimization. Oversee high-volume and critical parts availability, reducing expediting costs and downtime through proactive planning and process improvements. Assess and recommend tools, technologies, and solutions to enhance EMP parts processes and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Day-to-Day Activities
  • Monitor parts customer service levels and empowering the parts team to drive performance to meet customer requirements.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review KPIs and operational priorities.
  • Address performance gaps and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Collaborate with branches and customers to resolve parts-related issues and improve service delivery.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Parts Ticket is an asset.
  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and cost controls.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with Lawson M3 and parts network systems is an asset.
  • Understanding of labor relations, grievance resolution, and performance management processes.

This position is a permanent, full-time role based out of Red Deer Monday - Friday, 5x2 schedule.
