Join to apply for the Parts and Service Advisor role at LaPrairie Group of Companies.

Northland Fleet Services, a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, provides full turnkey fleet management services for light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty equipment to customers throughout northern British Columbia.

The Parts and Service Advisor will handle purchase order requests, customer repair requests, manage the Repair Order (RO) process, provide estimating support, and perform general administrative duties.

Roles And Responsibilities

1. Inventory Duties:

• Organize Northland’s parts rooms and storage spaces, including service trucks, trailers, and sea cans.
• Conduct physical inventory counts of storage units.
• Source, request quotes, and order parts considering costs.
• Receive parts physically and input into maintenance software (TMT); follow up on parts and core returns.
• Issue Purchase Order Requests to LaPrairie’s Procurement Department.
• Maintain inventory and billing accuracy by proper application of parts to repair orders.
• Communicate daily with vendors, suppliers, and staff regarding parts orders.
• Ensure shop supplies are stocked.
• Collaborate with Shop Manager, Lead hand, and Mechanics for efficient work processes.

1. Invoicing Duties (TMT and Eclipse):

• Create customer profiles in TMT per AR requirements.
• Create invoices after review and approval of final RO/WO’s.
• Monitor customer credit limits with the Credit and Collections Supervisor.

1. Phone Duties:

• Answer work calls during business hours.
• After-hours calls are handled by an outside switchboard, forwarding to the Shop Manager or Lead hand.

Requirements

• Experience with purchase and repair orders is an asset.
• Experience with automotive or heavy equipment maintenance systems is an asset.
• Proficiency in computer use, data entry, and typing skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
• Grade 12 Diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Positive work ethic and team attitude.
• Valid driver’s license required.
