Job summary

Destination Toyota Burnaby, part of Destination Auto Group, is seeking a Parts Advisor Apprentice to join a busy body shop environment. The role supports identifying, sourcing, and delivering OEM and aftermarket parts, using Toyota catalogs and multiple software systems to track parts through repair processes.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in automotive parts, strong organizational skills, and a professional communication style.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in an Automotive Parts environment.
• Toyota parts experience is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with identifying, sourcing, ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing OEM and aftermarket parts for body shop repairs.
• Use CDK Drive, iMEX, Mitchell Connect, CollisionLink, PartsBridge and Toyota catalogs to source and manage parts.
• Verify parts received against estimates and POs.
• Coordinate with estimators and technicians to ensure parts availability.
• Manage returns, warranties, and core returns with suppliers.
• Maintain inventory records and organize storage areas.
• Perform visual parts matching to vehicles.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assist with identifying, sourcing, ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing OEM and aftermarket collision repair parts required for body shop vehicle repairs.
• Utilize software systems such as CDK Drive, iMEX, Mitchell Connect, CollisionLink, PartsBridge, Toyota OEM parts catalogues, and various aftermarket supplier websites to identify, source, order, track, and manage parts throughout the repair process.
• Verify parts received against repair estimates and purchase orders.
• Work closely with estimators and technicians to ensure required parts are available when needed.
• Coordinate returns, warranty claims, and core returns with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control processes.
• Organize and maintain parts storage areas in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
• Visual parts matching of parts to vehicles

What we need from you:

• 1+ year in an Automotive Parts environment; previous experience with Toyota parts or in a body shop environment is an asset.
• Automotive proficiency with a high level of understanding of vehicle components, specifically related to auto body repair.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt in a very high volume and fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, independent, process driven and a team player with a high sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail when identifying collision repair parts, including trim-specific components, clips, fasteners, and one-time-use items.
• Ability to read and interpret collision repair estimates, parts lists, and repair documentation is an asset.
• Comfortable communicating with vendors, estimators, technicians, and internal departments to follow up on parts status, availability, and accuracy.
• Knowledge of software systems listed above is an asset.
• Have a valid British Columbia driver’s license, with a clean driver’s abstract.
