Position Overview

The Partnerships & Fundraising Manager is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for driving fundraising growth, sponsorship sales, and donor engagement across Saskatchewan. This role builds and maintains strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners to ensure Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan’s financial sustainability and growth.

The Manager develops new revenue streams, manages a partnership pipeline, and secures both financial and in-kind contributions through proactive outreach and relationship management. They also oversee the donor database (Raiser’s Edge), lead fundraising initiatives and events, and strengthen stewardship practices to retain and expand donor support.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role works collaboratively across departments to align fundraising and partnership strategies with Habitat’s mission and organizational goals. This role can be based out of Regina, Saskatoon or Prince Albert. Occasional travel for donor meetings and events is required.

Key Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Fundraising
  • Strategic Fundraising: Design and implement strategies to acquire, retain, and grow financial support from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations. Build and manage a robust prospect pipeline through proactive outreach and relationship-building.
  • Donor Stewardship: Lead activities to recognize and engage donors, ensuring meaningful acknowledgment of their contributions. Implement a structured follow-up process to encourage renewals and increased giving over time.
  • High-Value Relationships: Serve as the primary contact for major donors and corporate sponsors, maintaining strong partnerships. Proactively identify and secure new opportunities that advance Habitat’s mission and sponsorship goals.
  • Proposal Development: Create detailed funding proposals, sponsorship packages, agreements, and follow-up reports to secure funding and demonstrate impact. Negotiate partnership terms that align donor goals with organizational priorities.
  • Event Management: Organize and execute annual fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement initiatives. Leverage these events as sales opportunities to cultivate new leads, secure commitments, and strengthen sponsor relationships.
Procurement of Donations & Materials
  • In-Kind Donations: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure materials, furnishings, and resources for Habitat’s projects and ReStores. Actively identify partnership opportunities that create mutual value and long-term engagement.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work closely with ReStore managers to ensure professional pick-up or delivery services. Support smooth coordination that enhances donor and partner satisfaction.
  • Cost Optimization: Negotiate with vendors to balance quality, cost-effectiveness, and relationship value. Convert one-time donations into ongoing partnerships or sponsorship agreements where possible.
Integrated Strategy & Collaboration
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with internal departments (construction, marketing, and homeowner services) to align resources with organizational needs and identify sponsorship, donation, or partnership opportunities within each program area.
  • Campaign Development: Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns and materials that drive fundraising results and attract new corporate and community partners.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and execute strategies that connect Habitat’s programs with funding opportunities to maximize impact and revenue potential. Actively identify cross-promotional or co-branded initiatives that increase partner visibility and generate sustainable financial support.
Community Engagement and Advocacy
  • Outreach Initiatives: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance Habitat’s visibility and funding network. Actively identify new partnership and sponsorship opportunities through community engagement and networking.
  • Advocacy: Represent Habitat at public events, conferences, and forums to advocate for its mission and programs. Deliver compelling presentations that highlight the value of the partnership and encourage corporate and community investment in Habitat’s initiatives.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Increase participation in Habitat’s volunteer and donor programs through strategic outreach to partners.
Strategic Leadership & Administration
  • Goal Setting: Collaborate with leadership to establish departmental priorities and align them with organizational strategies. Set measurable fundraising, partnership, and sales targets, ensuring progress is reviewed regularly and adjusted as needed.
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee fundraising and procurement budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Monitor revenue pipelines, sponsorship conversions, and in-kind donation values to support accurate forecasting and financial planning.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on donor engagement, fundraising performance, sponsorship revenue, and procurement metrics for leadership. Analyze trends to identify growth opportunities and improve sales performance.
  • Best Practices: Stay informed about industry trends in fundraising, corporate partnerships, and social enterprise development. Apply innovative practices to strengthen Habitat’s donor relations, sponsorship outreach, and long-term funding sustainability.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and volunteers involved in fundraising or partnership activities, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement toward revenue goals.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, community development, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum five years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or partnership management.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting fundraising goals and securing financial or in-kind partnerships.
  • Experience managing budgets, sponsorship pipelines, and donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge or equivalent platforms.
