Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton in Northern Ontario seeks a Partner, Assurance, Audit & Privately Held Business Group to build and expand a Private Company Assurance practice.

You will advise owner-managed businesses with financial reporting, risk, and tax insights while maintaining independence and high standards. You will lead and mentor a team, collaborate across the firm, and drive growth with integrity and client trust.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Assurance experience in a Canadian professional services firm, leading and conducting complex accounting and audits.
• Proven success growing a business practice through relationship development, market insight, and proactively anticipating client needs.
• Proven ability to lead complex client engagements at local and national levels.
• Strong people leader with experience developing advisory teams, coaching talent, and maintaining high quality and development standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to influence decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Private Company Assurance practice across Northern Ontario.
• Advise privately held and owner-managed businesses with practical financial and risk insight.
• Deepen client relationships and expand networks to create new opportunities.
• Collaborate across Northern Ontario and the firm to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team in a culture of accountability and collaboration.
