Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton LLP in Canada is a large, community‑minded professional services firm with about 3,000 people. We’re hiring a Manager, Privately Held Business Group to lead review and compilation engagements, mentor teams, and deliver integrated accounting, tax and advisory services to private clients and investment holding companies.

You’ll drive client service, develop business opportunities, and help shape the office plan while coaching others and maintaining our culture of collaboration

Qualifications

• CPA designation is a strong asset.
• 5+ years’ experience in public accounting or related industry with focus on tax and accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong management skills including scheduling, organizing, supervising and multi-team management.

Responsibilities

• Leading and executing review and compilation engagements under ASPE across industries and sectors.
• Leading teams in the delivery of full-service accounting, tax and business advisory services for incorporated professionals and investment holding companies.
• Leading tax compliance service delivery for private clients, including analysis and review of corporate, trust and personal tax filings.
• Supervising and mentoring an accounting team, including file reviews.
• Maximizing engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resources.
• Contributing to new business development by understanding all Grant Thornton services and credibility in the field.
• Acting as a leader in the business unit, service line, and firm by contributing to the office business plan.
• Leading coaching and performance management, providing ongoing feedback and training.
