Part-Time Elementary & High School Teachers/Tutors Wanted

Position Overview
As a Teacher‑Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will work with elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and, when applicable, with high‑school students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. All lessons are pre‑planned, and you will receive training in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on teaching.
Position Requirements
- Availability Monday‑Friday after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm‑8:00 pm) and Saturdays.
- Commitment through to the end of the 2025/26 school year (June 30).
- Must be able to commute to our Vancouver location; this is an in‑person role.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Vancouver area.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification or Early Childhood Educator certificate is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 BC curriculum.
- Ability to teach multiple subjects is an asset.
Experience
- At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience at the K‑12 level (or equivalent).
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and ability to guide students' understanding.
- Teaching French is highly desired.
- Ability to multitask and balance teaching up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
- Work both online and in‑person (in‑class).
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports.
- Prepare for each lesson by reviewing materials and lesson plans in advance.
- Review and familiarize yourself with each student’s profile, learning goals, strengths, and areas for improvement before each session.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times, creating a fun learning environment.
Schedule
- Evenings.
- Monday to Friday (15–20 hours per week).
- Saturday availability.
Salary
$19 – $23 per hour.
