Position Overview
Oxford Learning East Vancouver is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to work with elementary students in reading, writing, math, and French, and high school students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. All lessons are pre‑planned, and you will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements
- Availability Monday‑Friday after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm‑8:00 pm) and Saturdays
- Commitment through the end of the 2025/26 school year (June 30th), with possibility of continuing through the summer
- This is an in‑person role; you must be able to commute to the location
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
- University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification/Early Childhood Educator certificate is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 BC curriculum
- Ability to teach multiple subjects is an asset
Experience
- At least one year teaching/tutoring experience at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to teach French is also highly desired
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
- Prepare for each lesson by reviewing teaching materials and lesson plans in advance
- Review and familiarize yourself with each student’s profile, learning goals, strengths, and areas for improvement before each session
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times, creating a fun learning environment

- Evenings
- Monday to Friday (15‑20 hours per week)
- Saturday availability
