Job summary

Oxford Learning Surrey Clayton Heights in Canada is seeking a part-time High School English Teacher/Tutor to help students improve English skills. Lessons are pre-planned and you will work after-school 3:00pm–7:00pm, with up to three students at a time, in-person at the Clayton Heights centre.

You will receive full training in our proprietary methods; reliable, flexible, and able to commute. Bachelor’s degree or related certification required; vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • University students with tutoring experience.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grade 8 to Grade 12 curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
  • Filling in post-lesson notes as required.
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

High School English Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford LearningSurrey Clayton Heights is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area.

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:00pm - 7:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • University students with tutoring experience
  • Good knowledge of the current Grade 8to Grade 12 curriculum
Experience:
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring at aGrade 8to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Filling in post-lesson notes as required
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

We can provide flexibility to work around university class schedules.

  • Evenings
  • Monday toThursday (3:00pm - 7:00pm)
