Job summary

Oxford Learning East Vancouver is seeking part-time teacher-tutors for the current school year. You will work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English.

Lessons are pre-planned and you will be fully trained in our philosophy and methods. This in-person role requires after-school and evening availability (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm) and a commitment through June 30th, with possible

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Third-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered.
• Working towards or having a teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time.
• Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times (create a fun learning environment).

Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning East Vancouver is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre for the current/upcoming school year. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.

Position Overview:

As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Teacher-Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best - teaching!

Position Requirements

• Availability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
• Commitment through to the end of the school year (June 30th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Third-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
