Job summary

New Value Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Security & Network Analyst to provide part-time Tier 2 security, network, and IT operations support in Canada. The role involves assisting with security assessments, access management, and daily technical operations while coordinating with internal staff.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Tier 2 experience across IT security and networking, with familiarity in Defender, RBAC, and incident remediation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience providing Tier 2 technical support across IT security, networking, systems administration, or infrastructure environments.
• Strong working knowledge of network and infrastructure security concepts.
• Experience reviewing security alerts, investigating technical issues, and implementing remediation activities.
• Experience with security monitoring platforms such as Microsoft Defender, Field Effect, or Obsidian Security.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security audits of external SaaS providers and document findings and recommendations.
• Respond to RBAC requests and support user access administration.
• Review security alerts from Microsoft Defender, Field Effect, and Obsidian Security.
• Investigate security issues, recommend remediation and implement approved changes.
• Assist with SQL Server security audits and related improvements.
• Support security initiatives involving DLP, Purview, Passkeys.
• Monitor daily backups and investigate failures.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support across security, networking, and IT infrastructure environments.
• Assist with IT equipment purchasing and related activities.
• Support ongoing IT projects and helpdesk operations.
• Maintain documentation of security findings and changes.
• Collaborate with staff to prioritize tasks and complete activities.
