Job summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Network Analyst in Toronto, Ontario, to support global network security operations. The role includes Level 2 on-call support on a 24/7 rotation and collaboration with DevOps, automation teams, and vendors.

Responsibilities include managing firewalls, VPNs, and site-to-site connectivity, performing incident response, and producing outage documentation. Candidates should have 4+ years in cyber-security and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in cyber and network security.
• Knowledge of IP internetworking, security exposures, and mitigation approaches.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, NAT, and IPsec site-to-site VPN deployment.
• Two or more certifications in Palo Alto, Cisco Firewall, Fortinet, or Check Point.
• Knowledge of network automation and programmability, including Python/API, Ansible, or Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill global firewall requests and maintain site-to-site VPN and firewall platforms.
• Respond to network security events and incident escalations.
• Work with DevOps and automation teams to define requirements and validate automation before production.
• Perform root cause analysis with vendors and escalation teams, and implement lasting fixes.
• Maintain support documentation and reports for major network outages.
• Provide Level 2 on-call support for firewalls, VPNs, and business-to-business connectivity.
• Collaborate with business units, vendors, and internal teams on incidents and security requirements.
