Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Part-Time Security Guard for YGK Airport in Kingston, Ontario. You will greet visitors, enforce access controls, perform patrols, and respond to emergencies while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security License, First Aid & CPR Level C, and the ability to communicate clearly in English. Training is provided, with a 6-month commitment, and Paladin offers diverse benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proficient English communication (oral and written).
• Valid Ontario Security License is required.
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification required.
• VSC and CRJMC 6 months or newer.
• Certification in Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB preferred; on-site Paladin training available with 6‑month commitment.

Responsibilities

• Present a smart, visible security presence.
• Greet, assist, and direct visitors to the premises.
• Ensure staff, visitors, and vendors follow airport protocols.
• Assist with wayfinding as required.
• Conduct proactive patrols inside and outside the airport.
• Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Remain calm and act effectively in emergencies.
• Follow instructions and document incidents; report writing.

Overtime Method: | Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: |Saturday/Sunday 0630-1700

Payrate: | $20.80/hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence


• Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises


• Ensure all staff, visitors, and vendors are following the protocols for YGK Airport


• Assist visitors as necessary with wayfinding as required


• Proactive, consistent patrols inside and outside the airport


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the utmost professionalism


• Strong interpersonal skills, flexible, and customer service oriented


• Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations


• Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures


• Report writing and note taking


• Access control for restricted areas of the property


• Additional job duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid Security License for Ontario


• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)


• VSC and CRJMC 6 months or newer


• Able to sit/stand for extended periods of time


• Able to complete extensive patrolling of site


• Proficient English communication (oral and written) required


• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)


• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position


• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability


• Complete mandatory onboarding and training with Paladin in Kingston, with ongoing training & development as directed by Paladin Management or the client


• Legally authorized to work in Canada
