Job summary

Vancouver Society of Children’s Centres (VSOCC) is hiring for School Age Educators to support after-school youth programming at Crosstown Elementary School in Vancouver. The role focuses on planning and delivering activities that promote education, recreation, leadership, arts, sports, environmental awareness, and civic engagement.

You will guide and care for children aged 5–12, foster learning, and ensure a healthy, safe environment while collaborating with parents, teachers, and a small team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (grade 12) and 20 hours of child development/health and safety training or equivalent.
• First Aid and Food Safe certifications recommended.
• Minimum six months' experience in a similar environment.
• Ability to work with diverse children and families and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate activities to meet needs of children and families in an out-of-school program.
• Develop programming in education, recreation, leadership, arts, sports, environment and civic engagement.
• Supervise and care for children ages 5 to 12.
• Foster learning, positive self-concepts, and safety for children and families.
• Maintain strong teamwork and communication with parents and staff.
