Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the 7 AM to 3 PM shift at Valley Stream in Ottawa. You will deliver planned nursing care to residents within provincial standards and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Ideal candidates hold current RPN registration, have experience with seniors, and bring strong communication, organizational and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, long-term care an asset.
• Strong teamwork, communication and time-management skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, patient-oriented nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.
• Develop and evaluate care plans; communicate changes as required.
• Teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching & mentorship.
• Complete and maintain resident assessments, care plans and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and multi-disciplinary teams.
