Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Red Deer, AB is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support our community by ensuring accurate prescription intake and patient-centred service. You will handle prescriptions, data entry, stock control, and communications with the pharmacist, within an energetic and inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Completed accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program or have 2 years dispensary experience.
• Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive written prescriptions and refill requests.
• Input patient and prescription information into the computer.
• Order, receive, and return stock; perform expiry checks and inventory corrections.
• Adhere to merchandising programs, procedures, and policies.
• Communicate allergy, interaction and billing information to the pharmacist.

We are hiring for a Pharmacy Assistant at our East Hill Centre location in Red Deer, AB.

You will be responsible for:

• Receiving written prescriptions and written or verbal refill requests.
• Inputting all patient and prescription information into the computer.
• Performing all tasks related to ordering, receiving, and returning stock, expiry date checks, balance owing and inventory corrections.
• Adhering to merchandising programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Communicating allergy interaction and relevant billing information to the pharmacist.

You have:

• Completed an accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program or have 2 years dispensary experience.
• A strong work ethic and "let's get it done" attitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Kroll computer experience is an asset.
