Job summary

Algonquin College's Police and Public Safety Institute is seeking a Part-Time Lab Support to help manage and operate teaching laboratories. The role offers 18 hours weekly with an anticipated start date of October 12, 2026, and a pay range of $40.62-$47.06 CAD per hour.

The position supports instructors, maintains equipment and schedules, and assists with simulation-based learning activities to enhance hands-on student training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) year Primary Care Paramedic diploma; a diploma in a related healthcare field, such as nursing, may be considered; CPR, WHMIS, and First Aid must be current throughout tenure; Must be familiar with Ministry of Health Provincial Equipment standards for Ontario Ambulance service; Minimum five (5) years experience as a PCP in an acute care facility , which preferably includes oversight of equipment maintenance and repairs, software applications in a laboratory setting and inventory monitoring and simulation based learning A combination of minimum five (5) years experience in a healthcare field and demonstrated knowledge of paramedicine and paramedic equipment may be considered

Job Description:

Anticipated Weekly Schedule:
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 5 hours per day with additional 3 hours remote.
  • Hours are flexible as per program needs and will be discussed during interview phase.
