Job summary

Algonquin College is seeking a Part-Time Support in the Police and Public Safety Institute to oversee health and safety standards, labs, and equipment for the Paramedic program.

The role includes setting up labs, maintaining equipment, orienting professors, collaborating on simulation-based learning, and assisting students in technical instruction.

Starting Oct 12, 2026 with an 18-hour weekly schedule and a closing date of Oct 11, 2026; hybrid work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year Primary Care Paramedic diploma; a diploma in a related healthcare field may be considered.
• CPR, WHMIS, and First Aid must be current throughout tenure.
• Must be familiar with Ministry of Health Provincial Equipment standards for Ontario Ambulance service.
• Minimum five (5) years experience as PCP in an acute care facility, which preferably includes oversight of equipment maintenance and repairs, software applications in a laboratory setting and inventory monitoring and simulation based learning
• A combination of minimum five (5) years experience in a healthcare field and demonstrated knowledge of paramedicine and paramedic equipment may be considered
