Job summary

Calmo, a new neighbourhood bakery café and wine bar opening near Dundas West / Ossington, is hiring part-time line cooks to join the opening team.

You will prepare and cook menu items, complete prep, plate dishes per Calmo standards, and keep a clean, organized workstation in a small kitchen.

Pay is $17.60-$19.00 per hour; schedule ~14–20 hours weekly; benefits include staff meals, discounts, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of line cook or professional kitchen experience preferred.
• Small kitchen experience and ability to manage station independently.
• Reliable, punctual, clean, and organized in work habits.
• Ability to follow recipes and plating standards with consistency.
• Calm and focused during service; good communication with team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items during service.
• Complete daily prep and mise en place.
• Plate dishes consistently according to Calmo’s standards.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Restock ingredients and supplies throughout service.
• Support kitchen opening and closing duties.
• Assist with dishes and general kitchen cleaning when needed.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen lead and front-of-house team.
• Work efficiently and stay organized during busy service.
