Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Cook for our Long-Term Care residence to prepare and serve meals on time while keeping work areas safe and sanitary.

The successful candidate will have prior cooking experience (supervisory preferred), a current Safe Food Handling Certificate, and a high school diploma or higher. Diploma/certificate in quality food preparation is required. Salary is 25.28 per hour; placement based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• High school education or higher; diploma/certificate in quality food preparation and production accepted.
• Salary: $25.28 per hour; placement based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Check special diet orders for new admissions to ensure accuracy.
• Respond to resident or family concerns and escalate as needed within authority.
• Direct Food Services Workers and oversee operation of the Food Services Department.
