Job summary

Alacrity Canada is seeking an HR operations professional to cover maternity leave, reporting to the COO. You will manage BambooHR, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee support and employment documentation, making sound judgments on routine HR matters.

This part-time, 20-hour-per-week role is hybrid, based in Victoria or Vancouver, BC, with a focus on compliance with BC Employment Standards, payroll basics, and timely, accurate people operations.

Qualifications

• Prior HR experience (part-time or full-time).
• Proficiency with BambooHR, HRIS data entry and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of BC Employment Standards Act (leave, overtime, notices).
• Experience with benefits administration and payroll basics.
• Ability to draft employment contracts and amendments; escalate when complex.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BambooHR: records, documents, reports.
• Track PTO and approvals.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding.
• Handle BC Employment Standards issues and escalate as needed.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment: postings, screenings, interviews, offers, references.
• Draft employment contracts, amendments, and pay letters.
• Collaborate with Finance on payroll compliance.
• Administer benefits: enrollments, questions, renewals.
• Maintain employee handbook.
• Process employee grants and reporting.
• Support team all-hands events.
• Take on ad-hoc projects.
