Zusammenfassung

Oxford Learning Coquitlam is seeking a part-time teacher-tutor to support after-school sessions and occasional Saturdays. You will guide students through language fundamentals, both online and in-person, while adhering to Oxford Learning practices.

A commitment through June and continuity through summer are preferred. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, tutoring experience, and knowledge of the K-12 curriculum.

Overview

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre at Oxford Learning Coquitlam. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area.

Position Requirements

All teacher-tutors work during after-school and evening hours (3:30-pm - 7:00-pm) as well as some Saturdays, 10:00-am - 3:00-pm. A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. This role is in-person and requires commuting to the location. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current K-12 curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a K-12 level (or equivalent)
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
