Job summary

The Town of Whitby is hiring a Maintenance Helper (Attendant II) to support Facilities operations in a hybrid work environment. The role focuses on cleaning, safety, and assisting with ice/pool activities while responding to public inquiries and supporting event setups.

Candidates should have a minimum Grade 11 education, strong customer service skills, physical fitness, and be able to obtain a police records check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 11 education.
• Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills with the public.
• Physically fit to lift, push and pull heavy objects.
• Police record check for vulnerable sector as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine facility cleaning in all public washrooms, changerooms and common areas; ensure facilities are safe and user-friendly.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of exterior areas including garbage, snow removal and salting.
• Assist with ice resurfacing and/or pool readings under supervision.
• Respond to public and staff inquiries and provide assistance.
• Set up and tear down facility spaces per booking schedules.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.
