Job summary

The City of Barrie is seeking a part-time Recreation Facility Attendant to support maintenance and operations across Allandale Recreation Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre and Peggy Hill Team Community Centre. Working under the Supervisor of Recreation Facilities, you will help Facility Operators keep spaces safe, clean and welcoming for programs and activities.

Ideal candidates have a Grade 10, Standard First Aid/CPR Level C and AED as applicable, plus part-time experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion of grade ten (10) Secondary School education
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certifications obtained prior to start date
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification obtained prior to start date
  • Three (3) months of cumulative part-time experience performing duties related to the above mentioned major responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to exert effort to lift, push, pull, or carry objects for short periods of time; stand, walk, reach, grasp, bend, kneel, crouch or turn; maintain a high standard of public relations; align with corporate goals and values

Responsibilities

  • Support routine maintenance and operational tasks for recreation and cultural facilities.
  • Assist Facility Operators in performing tasks on various facility spaces and equipment.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for programs and activities.
