DAVIDsTEA Inc. Whitby, Ontario seeks a compassionate caregiver to support an 8-year-old recovering from a concussion. This part-time, short-term role (approx.

3 hours daily, 3–5 days per week) focuses on light academic help, engaging activities, and gentle encouragement at home. You will assist with schoolwork, monitor symptoms, help with crafts and puzzles, and assist with tidy household tasks when not teaching.

Qualifications

• Honest, kind, patient, and proactive communicator.
• Ability to design and organize creative learning games and development activities.
• Punctual, well‑organized, and able to maintain a tidy household.
• First Aid & CPR certified; valid driver’s license or transportation.
• French as a second language is a major asset; Spanish is also beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide light academic support as she recovers.
• Childcare & recovery support: engage in gentle activities (arts, crafts, drawing, puzzles, cooking).
• Educational guidance: help with schoolwork (math, reading, writing) as headaches permit.
• Monitor energy levels and pivot activities if discomfort arises; light exercise is allowed.
• Household support: tidy toys, make beds, fold laundry when daughter is at school or otherwise engaged.
