Job summary

Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent is seeking a part-time, temporary role to assist in delivering social drop-in activities and support clients in creating personalized care plans. Staff will help clients build empowerment skills and pursue recovery, drawing on lived experience where appropriate.

Hours are up to 16 per week, with flexible scheduling; compensation ranges from CAD 22.68 to 27.59 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
PSW college certificate or a Social Service Worker Diploma is considered an asset.
Peer training and lived experience with mental health/addictions are assets.

Responsibilities

Assist in the delivery of social drop-in activities.
Utilize tools to assist clients in creating individual care plans.
Support clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy.
Utilize lived experience to assist clients in setting recovery goals.
Assist clients in developing healthy daily routines to promote recovery and independence.
Help clients access recreational and community-based activities.
Support program evaluation.
Ensure client concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Keep team informed of progress and adjust strategies as needed.
Stepping in to take on other duties in support of the extended team.
