Job summary

Spade Recruiting is seeking an experienced support worker to accompany a 5-year-old in a private school in South Ottawa. This classroom-based role runs four days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., totaling 16 hours weekly.

You will provide one-to-one support, help with transitions, encourage social interaction, and assist with self-care as needed, while collaborating with the teacher. The candidate should have hands-on experience with young children (DSW, ECE, CYC, SSW, ABA) and be comfortable

Qualifications

• Background in DSW, ECE, CYC, SSW, ABA or comparable hands-on experience with young children who need additional support.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support in the classroom to help the child stay engaged with activities.
• Assist with transitions and support social interaction with classmates.
• Assist with self-care routines as needed while in the classroom.
• Work alongside the teacher, following the school's lead on classroom expectations.
• Adhere to the school calendar and not work on PD days, holidays, or breaks.
