Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre at Oxford Learning Whitby. This position is ideal for individuals who love working with students and enjoy teaching language, social studies, and assisting elementary learners across a range of subjects.

Position Requirements

• Work after‑school and evening hours Monday–Thursday (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
• Commitment to the term ending in June; extending through summer is preferred.
• In‑person teaching only; must be able to commute to Whitby.
• Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
• Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Whitby area.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum.

Experience

• Experience teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 9 level (or equivalent).
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work with up to three students simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three students at a time across different levels.

• Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
