Job summary

Nurse Next Door Home Care Services in Calgary, Alberta is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home care that supports Happier Aging. You will assist with meals, light housekeeping, companionship and personal care, following each client’s care plan with attention to safety and dignity.

Ideal candidates have a nursing background with at least 1 year of experience, are English proficient, hold CLPNA registration, and can meet health and security checks.

Qualifications

• 1 year previous nursing experience is required.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both spoken and written.
• Graduate of a recognized nursing program and current registration with the CLPNA.
• Current TB Screen, CPR and Criminal Record Check.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship and personal care.
• Carry out the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Meet safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
• Work within your experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently.
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
• Perform wound care, medication administration, and other tasks within the LPN scope of practice.

• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
• Perform wound care, medication administration, and other tasks within the LPN scope of practice

Requirements

• 1 year previous nursing experience
• Must be able to community verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset
• Graduate of a recognized nursing program, and current registration with the CLPNA
• Current TB Screen, CPR and Criminal Record Check
