Job summary

Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Retirement Planning (FINS4200) in the Winter semester. This on-campus, in-person course is scheduled for Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 18:30 to 19:50.

The successful candidate will hold a graduate degree in a relevant discipline (MBA preferred) and CFP designation, with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for applied learning. The position supports professional development within the Donald School of Business.

Position Responsibilities

The Donald School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Retirement Planning, FINS4200 in the Winter semester.

Please note: This is an on-campus, in-person, course offering.

FINS4200 identifies how to synthesize learning in the development of comprehensive retirement planning strategies. Assess government, employer, and private retirement support and shortfalls. Receive credit towards Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation.

Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills that allow them to teach this course to a wide range of learners. The successful candidate will also have a passion for teaching theory using applied learning strategies in a flexible learning environment. A desire to innovate in the achievement of learning outcomes is required.

Benefits and Compensation Information

Part-time instructors receive an additional 14% of the gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
