Part Time AP Teaching Position
AP World History
Job Description and Requirements
St. Lawrence School is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and seeks enthusiastic part-time BC certified teachers to join our team. Ideal candidates should be passionate educators with strong organizational skills and robust knowledge within their subject area. Having past experience teaching AP World History is an asset but not a requirement. Candidates will be part of a collaborative teaching team where strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to effectively communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. All faculty and staff at St. Lawrence School share an enthusiasm for making a positive and uplifting impact on our young students.
A successful candidate must hold a valid British Columbian teaching license, be a positive role model, and demonstrate high moral standards for students as fitting for a teacher at an academically oriented independent school in British Columbia. The chosen candidate will be expected to instruct lessons, manage their classrooms effectively, maintain supportive relationships, and contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.
St. Lawrence School’s AP classes run from September 2025 to March 2026. Courses are scheduled outside of regular school hours and meet on either weekdays or weekends.
As a condition of employment, applicants must provide and maintain a clear criminal record check, including a satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Screening Report.
St. Lawrence School firmly believes that expanding our diversity while adjusting our practice will lead to becoming the community we envision—a place where staff and students share a sense that they fully belong. SLS is committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and equitable environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported. Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. If you are selected to participate in an interview, please inform the Principal of the nature of any accommodation(s) that you may require in respect of any materials or processes used to ensure your equal participation.
While all applicants are thanked for their interest, only those chosen for interviews will be contacted.
