Job summary

The City of Vancouver is seeking Park Rangers to support 200+ parks, promoting safety and positive park experiences in collaboration with City departments and partners. This role involves public relations, routine enforcement, and assisting park users with regulations and facility information.

Ideal candidates provide First Aid, CPR, and bylaw knowledge, and can work in varying weather conditions. A Police Record Check is required; driving records may be requested as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by courses related to the work or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED.
• Security Workers License is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor park for appropriate use and enforce the Park Control Bylaw when required.
• Provide advice, information, and direction to park users regarding regulations and facilities.
• Administer First Aid and address complaints in parks or via 311.
• Ensure park users can access facilities harmoniously while preserving park integrity.
• Monitor, unlock, and lock park facilities and gates for optimal availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
