Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Canada is seeking a Painter / Workshop worker to perform painting operations on fabricated components, including preparation, masking, painting, and cleaning, to meet quality standards. You will work with air-assisted spray equipment and handle surface prep and finishing tasks.

The role requires 6 months of industrial painting experience, a DEP in bodyworks or equivalent, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • DEP in bodyworks or AEP in Industrial painting (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 6 months of industrial paint shop experience.
  • Proficiency with technical machinery and lifting equipment.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Diligence and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.

Responsibilities

  • Paint fabricated components and equipment with an air-assisted spray gun.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, washing, sanding, masking, etc.
  • Select appropriate paint type/mixture according to specifications.
  • Clean and maintain painting area, ventilation, and PPE.
  • Scrub stubborn grime from blower parts using appropriate tools.
  • Assist with receiving and shipping preparation; operate a forklift when needed.

Job Overview:
The candidates must perform different types of painting operations (including preparing, masking, painting and cleaning fabricated components and equipment) using various kinds of liquid paints and coatings while making sure to meet quality standards. Additional tasks may involve parts finishing, pre-shipping material preparation and packaging.
Responsibilities
  • Paint fabricated components and equipment with an air-assisted spray gun,
  • Surface preparation by cleaning, washing, sanding, masking etc.
  • Select appropriate paint type/mixture according to pre-determined specifications
  • Clean and maintain painting, ventilation, and personal protective equipment,
  • Manual Scrubbing using wire brushes or abrasive pads to scrub stubborn grime, carbon deposits, or other residues from blower parts
  • Various related tasks such as receiving and shipping preparation, operating
  • a forklift,
Skills/Requirements
  • DEP in bodyworks or AEP in Industrial painting
  • Other equivalent combination of the required qualifications will be considered.
  • Proficiency with technical machinery and lifting equipment.
  • Have a minimum of 6 months of working experience in an industrial paint shop.
  • Familiarity with various trade-related equipment
  • Good organizational skills and work under pressure,
  • Diligence and attention to detail,
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude,
  • Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Be able to occasionally lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).
