Job summary

Loraas Disposal North is seeking a Painter/Sandblaster to sandblast and paint refuse containers and related equipment. The role emphasizes safety and efficient, high-quality finishes for community services equipment.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, coordinating with operations, and performing related tasks in outdoor settings. Knowledge of spray systems and coatings is preferred; a valid criminal record check and substance test clearance are required within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with air-assisted airless and HVLP spray systems.
• Knowledge of paints, thinners, and epoxy coatings.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with paint equipment.
• Auto body experience is an asset.
• Must be in good physical condition and prioritize safety.
• Criminal record check and substance test clearance required within two weeks of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Sandblast and paint refuse containers and related equipment.
• Sandblast and paint waste hauling equipment with proper masking and surface protection.
• Stencil and decal containers according to prescribed formulas.
• Coordinate with operations on upcoming needs and task priorities.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; complete required documents and report issues.
• Perform related duties including buildings and facilities work.
• Work outdoors when weather permits; ensure safety at all times.
• Carry out minor collision repairs and bodywork as required.

Responsibilities

Our priority is to make sure we hire a safe Painter/Sandblaster that cares about the service provided to the community. As a Painter/Sandblaster with us the minimum responsibilities are:

• Sandblast and paint refuse containers and other miscellaneous parts and equipment.
• Sandblast and paint waste hauling equipment – including masking and taping to protect surfaces such as finished paint, glass, hydraulic components, etc.
• Stencil and decal of containers according to prescribed formulas for various styles of containers.
• Communicate with operations department about upcoming needs and prioritization of tasks.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, including completion of applicable documents and reporting of potential issues or safety concerns.
• Various other duties as required, including buildings and facilities work.
• Work will be completed outdoors where weather and projects allow.
• Minor collision repairs on trucks and equipment, refurbishing truck bodies, other paint and bodywork as required.

• Knowledge and experience with both air-assisted airless, and HVLP spray systems is an asset.

• Must be in good physical condition.
• Candidates must have a strong focus on safety procedures and preventative measures.
• A criminal record check and successfully passing a substance test within a two-week period of their hiring date will be required.
