Job summary

Loraas Disposal North in Saskatoon, SK is seeking an Equipment Operator for our Material Recycling Facility. You will operate front-end loaders or forklifts, sort and bale materials, and perform daily safety and maintenance checks.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of equipment experience, a Class 5 driver's license, a criminal record check, and a safety-conscious mindset. The role is Monday to Friday, day shift, with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

Loraas has an immediate opening for an Equipment Operator for our Material Recycling Facility in Saskatoon, SK.

As a condition of employment, all new employees to safety sensitive positions must successfully pass a substance test within a two-week period of their hiring date.

Rate: $24.00 to $27.00/hour

Shift: Monday to Friday - Day Shift

Duties

• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Loading and unloading trucks with a front-end loader or forklift.
• Sorting and stacking of commodity bales.
• Cleaning baled materials and warehouse.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and policies according to company Safety Manual and OH&S Regulations.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and report any issues or items of concern found.
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled or required.
• Directing traffic in and around the material delivery areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Need From You

• 1-2 years of experience operating equipment.
• Certificate(s) in Heavy Equipment Operation an asset.
• General mechanical aptitude/experience in basic daily maintenance of heavy equipment required.
• Safety conscious, able to work safely in sometimes challenging conditions.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to adapt to new situations.
• Minimum Class 5 Driver's License required with clear abstract.
• A criminal record check will be required.
