Job summary

TreeHouse Foods in Kitchener, ON, seeks a Packer for the 2nd shift to support production. Under the crew leader, you will handle packing crackers, stacking, and preparing trays for palettization while ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role focuses on efficiency, adherence to schedules, and contributing to continuous improvement within the production line. The position is a full-time permanent role on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday) with shift differential.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environment, food manufacturing a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and process documents.

Responsibilities

• Open and prepare bulk crackers and trays for the line.
• Place flavors into correct slots and ensure proper cracker quantity.
• Straighten misaligned crackers; remove damaged items and pack appropriately.
• Remove finished products from conveyors and pack into bags/boxes.
• Assist with line duties, including sweeping and line vacancies during breaks.

About the Role

The Packer, under the direction of the Crew Leader, will ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards. The packer will be responsible for stacking and piling crackers into their correct containers and preparing them for palettization using various equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the department. You will add value to the role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

• Ensure bulk crackers & trays are opened and ready for the line (assorted line), place trays on the conveyor at the beginning of the line
• Place the flavor into its correct slot in the tray, while ensuring the proper number of crackers are placed in the tray (adding or removing crackers as needed), pushing slugs into retail
• Straighten misaligned crackers and ensure no spec product or trays go into boxes (remove crushed crackers, trays not filled completely, poor seals)
• Remove completed products from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers
• Pack retail boxes into shippers and help wherever needed on the line, duties may include sweeping, collecting garbage, case packing and covering line vacancies during breaks

Important Details

This is a full-time permanent role on 2nd shift, which operates Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM each day. Shift differential included. The wage range for this position is $22.86–$23.11 per hour, with $22.86 as the starting rate and $23.11 as the full rate. This posting is for a newly created role that is not currently vacant.
