Are you an experienced logistics and packaging professional looking to make a significant impact in the automotive industry? Our client is seeking a Packaging and Logistics Specialist to lead the development and management of packaging solutions, optimize transportation processes, and ensure seamless material flow within their supply chain. This is a critical role within the Production Control - Planning team, providing an opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Packaging Management:

1. Manage packaging and racking fleet requirements, procurement, and maintenance.
2. Oversee all aspects of packaging and racking projects, from design to production, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
3. Determine optimal packaging styles for inbound and outbound components to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
4. Work closely with Engineering, suppliers, and manufacturers to develop innovative, cost-effective packaging solutions.
5. Coordinate and escalate issues with Sales, Customers, and Production Control to prevent packaging and racking shortages.

Transportation & Logistics:

1. Manage global logistics, including custom clearances, freight forwarding, cross-docking, and container re-routing.
2. Track and escalate shipments to proactively address potential delays or disruptions.
3. Monitor and ensure adherence to freight budget.
4. Address and resolve container issues such as damages, delays, or freight discrepancies promptly.
5. Develop and implement contingency plans for supply chain interruptions.
6. Proactively manage expedites, diversions, and ERS (Emergency Recovery Shipments).
7. Create and maintain real-time dashboards for logistics performance tracking.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
2. P.Log Certification
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within an automotive Tier 1 supplier or OEM.
4. Expertise in engineering design packaging, including automotive racks, returnable, and disposable packaging.
5. Strong understanding of Toyota Production System (TPS) principles.
6. Advanced Excel skills, including VBA.
7. Experience with IBM AS400 (preferred).
8. Knowledge of USMCA trade regulations and IATF 16949 compliance.
