Job summary

Allied Universal in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Professional Security Guard for overnight full-time shifts (Sunday to Thursday, 23:15–07:15). The role requires a valid Ontario security guard license, ability to work up to 40 hours weekly, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

You will monitor access control, CCTV, and respond to emergencies. Candidates should have strong report writing, note-taking, and professional communication skills, plus First Aid and CPR Level C.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with access control systems and alarm systems.
• Experience with report writing and note-taking.
• Knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems.
• Must have a valid Ontario security guard license.
• Eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours per week.
• First Aid and CPR - Level C.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent/ GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Access control for the facility/area.
• Present a polished, professional image at all times.
• Manage conflicts and incidents and de-escalate where possible.
• Patrolling and following post orders, indoor or outdoor.
• Follow safety and emergency procedures for fire alarms and site emergencies.
• Undertake site-specific training and follow supervisor directions.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making in emergencies.
• Meticulous record keeping, report writing, and strong verbal/written communication.
• Operate security room equipment including computers, CCTV, radio.
• Perform in-car/vehicle patrols.
