Job summary

The Chefs' Warehouse in Edmonton is seeking a Sales Associate to drive revenue by expanding new and existing accounts within the restaurant, catering and hospitality sector. You will travel within the assigned territory to secure orders and build lasting relationships with customers.

Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years of sales experience, preferably in foodservice or culinary settings, with strong communication and a proactive, team-oriented attitude. College degree is desired but not required.

• Experience in restaurant, food sales, or professional catering, and/or working as a Chef is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce sales revenue through development and growth of new sales and by increasing sales with existing accounts.
• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads from various sources.
• Travel throughout assigned territory and/or call on regular and prospective customers to secure orders.
• Display or demonstrate product using samples or catalog, and emphasize saleable features.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep updated expense accounts.
• Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
• Track stock levels.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.

About you:

• One to two years of relevant experience in sales is highly desired
• Previous sales experience in restaurant, food sales, or professional catering, and/or working as a Chef is preferred
