Job summary

Cabco Technologies in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking a safety‑focused Outside Plant Line Technician to join our team. You will install and maintain aerial and underground telecom infrastructure, read designs, and work safely at heights.

With 3–10 years of telecom experience, you will test, troubleshoot, and repair outside plant equipment, follow safety policies, and support Atlantic Canada connectivity. Fiber splicing is an asset; valid Class 5 license required; long‑term career growth

Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years of telecommunications, outside plant, or related experience.
• Experience with aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Air Brake Endorsement and fiber splicing experience are assets.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure.
• Install strand, coaxial, and fiber-optic cable.
• Safely operate bucket trucks, cable trailers, and related equipment.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair outside plant network equipment.
• Read and interpret network designs, maps, and construction drawings.
• Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
