Job description

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is the voice of Canada’s Ukrainian community. We are hiring a National Outreach & Program Coordinator based in Ottawa. This staffer will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to implement and manage community outreach priorities and support key UCC programs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee UCC’s community outreach strategy
  • Manage communications projects and special events related to UCC priorities
  • Work closely with the UCC CEO and Board to undertake projects and programs
  • Develop relationships with leaders of member organizations and communities
  • Assist with monitoring and updating social media channels
  • Assist with research on public policy as needed
  • Support planning and implementation of the Triennial Congress

Skills and Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian required, knowledge of French is desirable
  • Post-secondary degree and related work experience in an office environment
  • Demonstrated event planning and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of the Ukrainian Canadian community in Canada
  • Excellent communication, public relations and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to meet with community volunteers occasionally outside of office hours
  • Willingness to travel as required for community events
