Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Alberta is seeking an Outlet Store Team Member for the Calgary Impact Centre. This part-time, hourly role involves greeting donors and shoppers, assisting with donations, stocking, and upholding safety and cleanliness standards in a busy retail environment.

You must be at least 15, able to pass a criminal record check, and legally eligible to work in Canada. Prior customer service is an asset, and strong English communication helps you connect with the public and support

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must have sufficient verbal and written command of the English language.
  • Exceptional customer service skills for interacting with donors and the public.
  • Dependability and reliability are required.
  • Must regularly lift donations and perform other light duties as needed.
  • Must own transportation to and from work and training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting members of the public throughout the store and providing information on store products.
  • Thanking donors and customers for supporting Goodwill’s mission.
  • Placing donations in designated storage area for sorting.
  • Adhering to Goodwill Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Rotating stock and keeping the store presentable.
  • Checking premises for items left overnight and bringing them inside.
  • Unlocking donor center and furniture store doors.
  • Educating customers about Goodwill’s mission.
  • Completing all paperwork as required.
  • Using equipment and PPE and following safety guidelines for tools.
  • Performing all cleaning tasks as listed in SOPs.

Job Type: Part-time, Hourly (15 - 24.5 hours per week)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Unlocking the donor center and furniture store doors.
  • Educating customers about Goodwill’s mission.
  • Completing all paperwork as required.
  • Using appropriate equipment, personal protective equipment and tools and follow all safety guidelines for equipment
    and tools.
  • Performing all cleaning tasks as listed in prescribed site SOPs.

What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Must be 15 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must have sufficient verbal and written command of the English language
  • Exceptional customer service skills to interact with donors and members of the public.
  • Dependability and reliability is required.
  • As this position requires lifting, sorting and moving donations, candidates must be able to regularly lift in excess of 10
    kilograms (22 pounds). Basic mathematical and written English skills to maintain reports.
    Must be responsible for own transportation to and from work, as well as to and from Goodwill training sessions
