The Oskapew (Male Youth Worker) provides prevention and intervention services that support youth and families by promoting healthy relationships, cultural values, and the Cree Way of Life. The role focuses on building trusting relationships with youth, providing one-on-one mentorship, connecting individuals and families to community resources, and organizing cultural, recreational, and land-based activities that encourage personal growth, confidence, and well-being. The worker also supports youth experiencing mental health challenges, collaborates with parents, caregivers, schools, and community partners, responds to crisis situations when needed, and maintains accurate client records. The position is primarily community-based, with approximately 80% of work taking place in family homes and the community and 20% in the office.
Youth Care Worker certificate or diploma, social work certifcate or diploma. Equivalences will be considered.
