Job summary

NewCold Canada II Operations Inc. is seeking an Order Selector to assemble mixed-product pallets and label and wrap completed pallets for staging.

You will use WMS software to maintain accuracy, operate a stand-up forklift, and follow NewCold safety and quality standards in a -20 Celsius freezer environment. duties include packing, palletizing, inventory replenishment, and keeping an orderly, safe work area while meeting KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift operator training and safe handling demonstrated on-site.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and endure cold storage environments.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety and quality in all tasks.
  • Pick, pack, palletize, label, and ship orders to meet customer requirements.
  • Operate forklift and ensure batteries are charged and inspection completed.
  • Maintain attendance and performance in a fast-paced warehouse.

Job description

Order selectors assemble mixed-product pallets according to customer specifications. WMS software is used to ensure order and inventory accuracy. They are responsible for wrapping and labelling completed pallets and moving them to staging areas all while complying with NewCold Safety & Quality standards. Order selectors are required to handle goods efficiently and accurately, and responsible for maintaining dependability, safety awareness, and physical stamina in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize safety and quality; keep the work area safe and report all hazards immediately.
  • Organize, pick, pack, palletize, re-case, select orders, replenish inventory, wrap, and label orders in a consistent and accurate manner to meet both customer requirements and NewCold KPIs.
  • Repeatedly lift cases weighing 50 pounds.
  • Build pallets, stacking materials in accordance with established inventory control procedures.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance, and a high level of performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all NewCold and OH&S-required personal protective equipment protocols.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of the company's safety programs.
  • Operate a forklift equipped with forks or a clamper safely and efficiently to transport customers’ products.
  • Forklift batteries should be charged according to established procedures.
  • Always complete the forklift or equipment inspection checklist before beginning operation.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted within established deadlines.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork skills, adhere to instructions and workplace policies, and willingly undertake additional responsibilities as required.
  • Strive to maintain exemplary levels of customer service.
  • Inform both internal and external teams of any deviations from established processes, quality concerns, and service issues or potential risks in these areas.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed to ensure quality and food safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
  • Assist in other warehouse activities as required
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Ability to cross-train and provide coverage for team members planned time off.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts as required
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ensure continuous focus and situational awareness during all operations.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Stand-up Forklift experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to successfully complete forklift operator training
  • Must demonstrate safe handling of a forklift during an on-site test.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be in good physical condition, must be able to stand up to 8 consecutive hours/day
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs repetitively, including overhead to floor, and floor to overhead lifting.
  • Frequent bending/twisting, low level work required
  • Frequent walking
  • Must be able to work effectively in -20 Celsius freezer environment consistently for full shift.
