Job description

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer with extensive experience in Oracle Database Engineering and cloud-based database solutions. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise, thrives in independent problem-solving, and specializes in database architecture, high availability, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer Oracle Databases in a RAC/Grid environment, ensuring stability and efficiency in production settings.

• Deploy and manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure (version 19 or newer) on Linux-based systems.

• Oversee ASM Cluster Filesystem, perform maintenance tasks such as disk group expansion, and apply best practices.

• Conduct grid infrastructure patching and upgrades to maintain a secure and up-to-date environment.

• Utilize Oracle Database Resource Manager for efficient resource allocation.

• Automate routine database administration tasks using Ansible, scripting, and other automation tools.

• Optimize Linux huge pages for improved database performance.

• Provide mission-critical production support, ensuring high database availability with minimal downtime.

• Configure and maintain Oracle Active Data Guard for disaster recovery and business continuity.

• Design and implement data replication and synchronization using Oracle Golden Gate and Advanced Security Option.

• Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, using AWS Performance Insights to analyze bottlenecks and query execution times.

• Tune inefficient queries and implement optimization strategies to enhance overall system performance.

• Support multiple database engines, including PostgreSQL (Aurora), NoSQL (DynamoDB), and MySQL.

• Leverage PL/SQL expertise to manage, optimize, and refactor database logic for better efficiency.

• Plan for future scalability, ensuring database architectures align with evolving business needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience with Oracle RAC and Grid Infrastructure (19c or later).

• Strong knowledge of ASM Cluster Filesystem administration.

• Proven ability to manage Active Data Guard for business continuity and high availability.

• Expertise in Oracle Golden Gate and Advanced Security Option for data replication and security management.

• Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS and Oracle Cloud, with familiarity in RDS infrastructure and Performance Insights.

• Advanced troubleshooting skills in query optimization, performance tuning, and database scalability.

• Proficiency in configuring and managing huge pages on Linux to optimize performance.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to database challenges.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capability to work cross-functionally.

• Proven experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.

• Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to plan and implement scalable database architectures.
