Job summary

FYidoctors, a division of FYihealth group, is hiring an Optical Associate to join our Canmore and Banff clinics. The role involves assisting patients with eyewear, interpreting prescriptions, taking measurements, and supporting clinic operations in a full-time capacity (30-40 hours/week).

You will greet patients, educate on options, handle billing, and assist with contact lens fittings while delivering exceptional patient experiences in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous optical or retail experience is an asset.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure value, quality, aesthetics, and performance.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.

Our FYidoctors - Canmore and FYidoctors - Banff clinics are looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a full-time role working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist

What You Bring

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset
