Job summary

FYidoctors Calgary - Hillhurst is seeking an Optical Associate to join our clinic on a casual basis (0–19 hours per week). You will greet patients, help with frame selection, and interpret prescriptions from the optometrist, ensuring proper fit and exceptional service.

The role involves billing, appointments, and assisting with contact lens fittings, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Previous optical or retail experience is a plus, with strong communication and tech skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service for a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.

Our FYidoctors Calgary - Hillhurst clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a casualrole working 0-19hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
