Job summary

FYidoctors Calgary - Edgemont is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team. You will greet patients, educate on eyewear, interpret prescriptions, and ensure proper fit and comfort of frames in a fast-paced, collaborative clinic.

You’ll also handle scheduling, billing, and assist with contact lens fittings while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting clinic operations. This is a full-time role with a Monday–Saturday schedule at our Calgary clinic.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative, adaptable and proactive team player with growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions from the optometrist.
• Measure frames and faces for proper fit and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients and insurers.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and patient experience.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.

Our FYidoctors Calgary - Edgemont clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a full-time role working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required
